The new owners of Sweet Serenity Chocolates and Desserts, Brandy Widdowson and Elinor Barry, are helping make a difference in the community by donating 10% of store proceeds from Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October to Nanticoke Health Foundation which supports the Allen Cancer Center at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. The proceeds will support patients undergoing radiation or medical oncology services.

As the second leading cause of death of women in the United States, breast cancer touches us all. Whether it’s a family member, friend or acquaintance, this disease has undoubtedly affected the life of someone you may know or love. This is why breast cancer awareness is so important not only to raise funding for a cure, but also to raise awareness and educate women on early detection.

On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, Sweet Serenity Chocolates and Desserts presented a check to Nanticoke Health Foundation and the Allen Cancer Center in the amount of $1000.

Sweet Serenity supports Nanticoke Health Services and the community in many ways throughout the year including their significant participation in the annual Live for Chocolate event promoting women’s health education. Live for Chocolate is a free event in downtown Seaford open to the public and will be held this year on Friday, May 3, 2019. Learn more at
