Three Signs Your Nervous System Is Overloaded
Most people think stress should be obvious.
They imagine a crisis, a breakdown, or a moment when everything finally falls apart. What I've learned after more than twenty-five years of working with people is that stress rarely announces itself that clearly.
Instead, it often appears as fatigue, brain fog, irritability, difficulty concentrating, loss of motivation, and the persistent feeling that something is off even when life looks perfectly fine from the outside.
In this Compass conversation, I explore three common signs that your nervous system may be overloaded and why so many intelligent, capable, and highly responsible people remain exhausted despite doing everything they know to do.
The conversation explores an important question:
What if the issue isn't a lack of energy?
What if the issue is where your energy is already going?
If you've ever found yourself wondering why rest no longer feels restorative, why ordinary life requires more effort than it used to, or why pushing harder no longer seems to work, this conversation may offer a different perspective.
