The Weekend Before Sea Witch 2018 Features a Quintet of Great Coastal Events on the Calendar
We're now just a week away from the biggest party of the year in Rehoboth Beach, when the three-day Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddler's Festival kicks off for 2018.
But, while Sea Witch is definitely on the horizon and the resort is preparing for it's biggest annual celebration, that doesn't mean there isn't anything to do the weekend before. Quick the contrary!
We have five more great events for you to consider this weekend here in the coastal region, and you can't go wrong with any of them. So pick your favorite and head out over the next few days for a great time at the Delaware and Maryland beaches.
Okay, let's get right to the business at hand. Here are the Oldfather Group's top choices for fun and family-friendly local events for the weekend of Oct. 19-21 at the Delaware and Maryland beaches:
Milton Zombie Fest (Oct. 20). This unique festival in Milton is now in its fourth year and will feature several fun-filled activities at various locations throughout town.
The event is scheduled for 12 to 10 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 20, and includes bands, food trucks, beer tents, vendors, street performers and much more.
Then at 8 p.m., you don't want to miss the annual "zombie walk," which is one of the highlights of the annual festival in downtown Milton.
All proceeds from the 2018 festival will benefit the Milton Theatre, The Milton Historical Society, The Milton Fire Department and Casa San Francisco.

Bark on the Boards (Oct. 20). This Saturday in Rehoboth Beach, hundreds of pet lovers and their beloved animals will converge on the “Nation’s Summer Capital” for a day of collective fun and entertainment.
This year’s event will feature a variety of great events, including a Dock Dogs diving competition, yoga with puppies, a pet psychic and a pet costume contest.
There will also be live music, games, vendors and much more, along with a 1 kilometer walk beginning at noon.

Boo-B-Que By the Sea (Oct. 19-20). This family friendly event benefits the Delaware State Parks’ Children in Nature program, as well as other outdoor activities, and includes a competitive barbecue competition, great musical entertainment and much more.
There will also be kids' activities, food vendors, trick or treating, a pie eating contest and a corn hole tournament, as well as an extensive beer garden. The cost is $10 per person, with children 14 and under admitted for free.
For barbecue tasting tickets, which include 20 tasting samples of pulled pork barbecue as well as voting privileges, the cost is $20 per person if purchased online or $25 the day of the event.
