WGMD Wins National Honor

June 9, 2020

WGMD, The TALK Of Delmarva, has been honored by the National Federation of Press Women as Best Newscast - Radio.

The same entry was awarded the first place award by the Delaware Press Association earlier this year.

“The honored newscast featured stories and sound bites surrounding the denial of the Nativity Scene on public property in Rehoboth Beach”, says Walt Palmer, Executive Producer of News for WGMD.

Both the NFPW and DPA contests were judged by professionals from other markets in the country.

This year WGMD celebrates its 40th anniversary broadcasting on Delmarva under the same ownership.  WGMD features national news at the top of the hour from Fox Radio News and local news 7 days per week. Accuweather and Marine weather reports hourly.  “The station is proud to be able to present 11 hours of live, local hosts and programming weekdays and 20 hours of live programming every day” reports Palmer.

The station can be heard on 92.7 FM and streaming worldwide on WGMD.com, the WGMD smartphone app, Tune-In, Alexa, AHA and ZENO Radio.
