What’s Happening This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland

January 11, 2023

Welcome to the middle of January everyone!

Though it's been a rather mild winter so far, except of course for the big polar blast at the end of December, it is still January at the Delaware and Maryland beaches. Translation: there aren't a whole lot of events, festivals and gatherings to tell you about right now.

There are several great things to preview in the coming weeks, including this weekend's Delmarva Art Expo at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City (read more about this below).

Other January and February upcoming events are also previewed in this blog so be sure to mark your calendars for some great events that are on the horizon.

But if you really want to enjoy your time at and near the beaches this offseason, we've written some blogs that will help you do just that. From local museums to great neighborhood restaurants and fun indoor activities like bowling and local plays, there's plenty to do between now and the onset of spring.

This popular wintertime event is coming back for another year of offseason fun in Bethany Beach.

Scheduled for January 27-29, the Fire & Ice Festival will feature ice sculpture tours, sculpture demonstrations, bonfires, fireworks, ice slides, a chili cook-off, live music and more over three days.

The theme for 2023 is "Lights, Camera, Action!"
