‘To Dust’ opens at Cinema Art Theater March 8

March 6, 2019

Starting Friday, March 8, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “To Dust,” a complex but ultimately uplifting comedy about a grieving husband’s search for answers about the end of life and the unlikely friendship that brings him comfort.

Shmuel (Géza Röhrig), a Hasidic cantor in Upstate New York, distraught by the untimely death of his wife, struggles to find religious solace, while secretly obsessing over the fate of her remains. As a clandestine partnership develops with Albert (Matthew Broderick), a local community college biology professor, the two embark on a darkly comic and increasingly literal undertaking into the underworld.

Screening times are 1 and 6 p.m., Friday, March 8; 3 p.m., Sunday, March 10; 2 p.m., Monday, March 11; and 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 13. Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater, starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
