‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ opens March 17

March 16, 2023

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater announced its upcoming screenings.

Encore screenings of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” will open Friday, March 17. An aging Chinese American woman (Michelle Yeoh) is swept up in an insane adventure where she alone can save the world by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led. The cast also includes Jenny Slate and Jamie Lee Curtis. Among its numerous accolades, the film received 11 nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, and won seven, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay.

Also opening March 17 is “Emily,” an engrossing British biographical drama and a partly fictional portrait of a famous writer. “Emily” imagines Emily Brontë’s own Gothic story that inspired her seminal novel, “Wuthering Heights.” Haunted by the death of her mother, Emily (Emma Mackey) struggles within the confines of her family life and yearns for artistic and personal freedom. She chooses to begin a journey that will channel her creative potential into one of the greatest novels of all time.

“The Quiet Girl” is a moving drama told through the eyes of a neglected youngster in rural Ireland. Nine-year-old Cait, part of an overcrowded, dysfunctional family, is sent to live with distant relatives for the summer. The middle-aged farm couple allows her to experience being in a loving home and find a new way of living as she blossoms in their care.

The Rehoboth Beach Jewish Film Festival continues through Sunday, March 19.

Exhibition on Screen presents “Mary Cassatt: Painting the Modern Woman.”

Admission is $9 for RBFS members, $11.50 for general audience and $5 for students. For a complete schedule and to purchase tickets, go to rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, admission can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
