‘Little Woods’ at the Cinema Art Theater

Starting Friday, May 10, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present the drama “Little Woods,” a taut and affecting thriller about sisters pushed to extremes, from award-winning director Nia DaCosta. “Little Woods” was featured in the 2018 Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival and has received a 96 percent Fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.com. 

In this modern Western, Ollie (Tessa Thompson) is trying to survive the last few days of her probation after getting caught illegally running prescription pills over the Canadian border. When her mother dies, she is thrust back into the life of her estranged sister Deb (Lily James). Together they discover that they have one week to settle the mortgage on their mother's house or face foreclosure. As bills and pressure mount, Ollie reluctantly returns to a life of crime for one last deal.

Screening times are 4 and 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 15; 4 and 7 p.m., Thursday, May 16. Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
