‘Next to Normal’ to benefit mental health services Sept. 13-15
The Milton Theatre will present its own production of the American rock musical, “Next to Normal,” at 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13; 2 and 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14; and 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15.
Jewish Family Services will receive a donation to support its mental health services for each ticket purchased with a special promo code of JFS. Jewish Family Services of Delaware strengthens individuals, families and the community by providing counseling and support services. It provides holistic outpatient counseling services and compassionate professional therapists to help individuals take charge of their lives.
As with April’s in-house production of “Jesus Christ Superstar,” the audience will see a transformed physical stage with the full creative team making sure the show is on par with other regional productions. A live band will accompany all four shows.
Theatre Director Fred Munzert will personally oversee the show as he returns to directing for the first time since reopening the venue more than five years ago.
Leading the cast is local Erin Bobby playing the role of Diana Goodman. Senior Airman Josh Dinan, an active-duty officer of the U.S. Air Force, will play Dan Goodman. Milton Theatre Education Director Connor Lee Graham will take on the role of Natalie. Rounding off the cast are Matt Lewis from Ocean City, Md., as Gabe; Shane Dinan of Asheville, N.C., as Henry; and Jason Beil of Newark as Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine.
