‘Shakespeare Buzzed’ auditions set Dec. 6

November 24, 2021

PCA Productions is currently looking for three to four actors to fill an ensemble cast for “Shakespeare Buzzed.”

Auditions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, Dec. 6, at the Milton Theatre. Those who cannot make the audition can send a 30-second video to productionmanager@pcashows.com. Any rehearsal conflicts are to be disclosed with initial inquiry. There will be compensation for shows.

Actors will have the freedom in this company to bring their own artistry and individual talents to the roles. Producers are specifically looking for individuals who are eager to push the envelope of a traditional theater experience.

Performers should be well-versed in Shakespeare, possess outstanding comedic chops, commanding stage presence and an up-for-anything attitude, and be comfortable with improv and audience interaction. This is an ensemble piece and all actors are expected to have a positive attitude with a strong sense of teamwork and group sensibility.

PCA Productions encourages performers of all backgrounds, ages, sizes, races, physical abilities and gender identities (and/or non-conforming) to audition. They are actively seeking a diverse cast. All must be 21 years of age to audition.

Auditioners should prepare a one-minute Shakespeare monologue, played straight. They should also prepare 30 seconds of the same monologue switching dialects. Producers want to be able to see any other skills actors might be able to bring to the improv side of the show.

Rehearsals will start at 5 p.m., Monday, Dec, 20, at Milton Theatre.

The first performances will be Thursday, Jan. 20, at Milton Theatre. Performances continue Friday and Saturday, Jan. 21 and 22, at Revival in Salisbury, Md.
