‘Some Kind of Heaven’ to open Jan. 15

January 14, 2021

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “Some Kind of Heaven,” an acclaimed documentary that offers an inside look into America’s largest retirement community, starting Friday, Jan. 15.

Behind the gates of a palm tree-lined fantasyland, four residents of the massive, self-contained utopia called the Villages, Fla., strive to find solace and meaning in their search for the American dream. With strikingly composed cinematography, this candy-colored film offers a tender and surreal look at the never-ending quest for finding meaning and love in life’s final act.

Screening times are 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15 and 16; 1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17; 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 20; and 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21. Admission is $8 for members and $11 for nonmembers. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online at rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
