‘Mack & Rita’ to open at Cinema Art Theater Aug. 12

August 10, 2022

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater, starting Friday, Aug. 12, will present “Mack & Rita,” an uplifting comedy about a young woman who magically transforms into her older self.

When 30-year-old self-proclaimed homebody Mack Martin (Elizabeth Lail) reluctantly joins a Palm Springs bachelorette trip for her best friend Carla (Taylour Paige), her inner 70-year-old is released – literally. The frustrated writer and influencer magically transforms into her future self: “Aunt Rita” (Diane Keaton). Freed from the constraints of other people’s expectations, Rita comes into her own, becoming an unlikely social media sensation and sparking a tentative romance with Mack’s adorable dog-sitter, Jack (Dustin Milligan). A sparkling film with a magical twist, “Mack & Rita” celebrates being true to oneself at any age.

For all screening times and to purchase tickets, go to rehobothfilm.com. Admission is $9 for members and $11.50 for nonmembers. If seats are available, admission can be purchased at the theater box office beginning 30 minutes prior to each screening.
