‘A Hidden Life’ to open Jan. 24 at Cinema Art Theater

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “A Hidden Life,” starting Friday, Jan. 24. Inspired by true events, the film is a drama from visionary writer-director Terrence Malick about the life of an unsung hero who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War ll.

When Austrian peasant farmer and devout Catholic Franz Jägerstätter becomes a conscientious objector, he is faced with the threat of execution for treason. His unwavering faith, and his love for his wife Fani and children keeps his spirit alive during the darkness of war.

Screening times are 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24; 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26; 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29; and 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30. Admission is $8 for members and $11 for nonmembers. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online; available tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
