‘Fantastic Fungi’ to open Dec. 13 at Cinema Art Theater

Starting Friday, Dec. 13, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will offer “Fantastic Fungi,” a consciousness-shifting documentary that takes viewers on an immersive journey through time and scale into the magical earth beneath, an underground network that can heal and save the planet.

Through the eyes of renowned scientists and mycologists like Paul Stamets, best-selling authors Michael Pollan, Eugenia Bone, Andrew Weil and others, viewers become aware of the beauty, intelligence and solutions the fungi kingdom offers to some of the world’s most pressing medical, therapeutic and environmental challenges.

Screening times are 3 p.m, Friday, Dec. 13; 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14; 3:15 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15; 1 and 3:15 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16; 4:45 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18; and 3 and 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19.  Admission is $8 for members and $11 for nonmembers. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
