‘Perspective’

May 21, 2019

Amanda Hutchison’s photograph illustrates a unique, horseshoe crab’s-eye view of the Delaware Breakwater East End Lighthouse at Cape Henlopen State Park.

If you see a horseshoe crab upside-down on the beach, wiggling its legs or moving its tail back and forth, please flip it rightside-up by holding the sides of the shell, not the tail. The crab won’t bite you, they’re only here to mate, and you’ll be saving his or her life while aiding the continuation of this ancient, gentle species, which has remained essentially the same for 445 million years (wikipedia).
