The inaugural Dockside & IRM Classic brought 58 teams to Indian River Marina Aug. 21-23 for a weekend of offshore fishing, competition and festivities.
Four teams left the tournament with both prize money and fresh catches to bring home.
In the Mahi division, Reel Therapy claimed first place with a 26.25-pound mahi to win a $24,000 prize. Reel Nauti finished second with a 20.4-pound fish, earning $16,000.
The Flounder division ended in a tie between Top Notch and Tootsie Chick, with both teams landing 8-pound flounder. Each team received $16,500.
No tuna were caught and submitted for the tournament, so the $30,000 tuna purse was divided equally between the Mahi and Flounder divisions, adding $15,000 to each division’s purse. First place received 60% of the purse, while second place received 40%.
The tournament also featured live music, cash bars, a 50/50 raffle and a dunk tank. Froggy 99 provided live broadcasts throughout the weekend.
Teams were permitted to fish up to 100 miles offshore, with lines in the water from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. A total of 45 boats headed offshore Saturday, followed by 50 boats Sunday.
Fish were weighed at Indian River Marina by 9 p.m., Saturday, and 6:30 p.m., Sunday. The tournament concluded Sunday with a 7 p.m. awards ceremony, where the winning teams collected their checks.
