After a service disruption Sept. 28 giving callers a busy signal when they dialed 911, police say 911 calls should be working now.
Delaware State Police Dispatch Centers are now operational and 911 calls are being received, said Master Cpl. Heather Pepper of the Delaware State Police. “If you call 911 and receive a busy signal or recorded message, callers are encouraged to text 911 and type your emergency in the message field or utilize the nonemergency telephone numbers,” she said.
On Sept. 28, police said, Delaware State Police Dispatch Centers were experiencing a statewide interruption in service. Anyone attempting to call 911 either by cellphone or landline was experiencing a busy signal, police said.
