AARP Chapter 5340 holds fundraiser at Georgetown Family Restaurant

For its first fundraiser, AARP Chapter 5340 held a dine and donate event at Georgetown Family Restaurant, which donated 10 percent of the day’s sales to the chapter.
It was a fun-filled day. Pat Rust, Pat VanAuken, Joan Hitchens, Stella Hickman and Mildred Jones had fun greeting customers at the door.
Chapter 5340 projects include scholarships to local students, help for local seniors in need, hope bags for cancer patients, collections of food for the Wesley UMC food closet, and monthly visits to the Harrison House in Georgetown.
To join in the chapter’s volunteer efforts, contact Paula Norman at 302-500-1768. Meetings are held at the Georgetown Presbyterian Church on the first Tuesday of the month. All are welcome.
