Actress Suzanne Savoy to perform ‘Je Christine’ Aug. 22

August 17, 2019

TV and film actress Suzanne Savoy, who originally hailed from Delaware, will appear in “Je Christine,” at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Milton Theatre.

She will offer a solo performance on the life and writings of Christine de Pizan. The show is translated from Medieval French manuscripts and depicts the life and times of Europe’s first professional author, widowed at the age of 25, who took up the pen to support herself and her children. She wrote in defense of women, authored a book on military strategy, and penned love poetry, political treatises, and a heroic poem about her contemporary, Joan of Arc.

Savoy plays recurring roles on series such as “House of Cards” and “Better Call Saul,” was a villain on “NCIS,” and played Charlotte in the recent hit film “The Upside.” She is the daughter of local actress Jean Savoy, who performed in community theatre in Milton, Georgetown and other venues.

This performance is in memory of Jean and Prew Savoy, and all proceeds will be donated to the Milton Theatre’s Capital Campaign Fund.

Tickets are $20-$25.
