Alfonzo Price, loved the Lord

September 29, 2020

Alfonzo Price, 61, the son of the late Aron Price Sr. and Letha Mae Price, was born in Milford Sept. 26, 1958.  He departed this earthly life peacefully and gracefully Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, among family.

Alfonzo was educated in the Cape Henlopen School District and graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1978. After graduating, he was employed by Ward Components in Georgetown from 1978-80. From 1980-81, Alfonzo was employed by NCR, Millsboro, and then relocated to NCR’s plant in Liberty, S.C., where he was employed from 1981-92. In 1992, Alfonzo decided to return home and worked various jobs such as: Seawatch International in Milford, Perdue Farms in Georgetown, Allen’s Poultry in Harbeson, Intervet (Merck) in Millsboro and Donut Connection in Harbeson.  In 2010, he began working for Sapps Cleaning Service in Wilmington.

Alfonzo and Marvin Sapp automatically became the best of friends.  Marvin would have him hire employees for the business.  He did such a good job for Sapps Cleaning that in 2015, Delaware Sleep Disorder Center of Wilmington hired him to work for them and he was employed there until his illness would no longer allow him to work.  He met a lot of people while working for Sapps Cleaning Service and Delaware Sleep Disorder Center, and became friends with many of them. Alfonzo was a dedicated employee and enjoyed working at Sapps Cleaning Service and Delaware Sleep Disorder Center.

Alfonzo was a member of First Congregational Church in Milton, where he served as a deacon, sang on the church choir and was a soloist.  Alfonzo would do anything that the church asked of him.  He loved his church. While living in Easley, S.C., he joined Easley Chapel United Methodist Church in 1982. He sang on Easley Chapel’s Ensemble, Senior Choir, the children and youth choirs, played on the church’s bowling team, drove the Sunday school van and worked with the children and youth ministries.  He loved Easley Chapel and its members.

Alfonzo enjoyed traveling with his family and friends as well as cooking for them and talking about the Lord.

Alfonzo was preceded in death by his father, Aron Price Sr. (1993); mother, Letha Mae Price (2010); sister, Cathy Price Massey (2002) and brother, Aron Price Jr. (2020).  He leaves a loving family to cherish his precious memories, three brothers, Charles Cave Sr. (Mary), Sammie Price Sr. (Wanda) and Teddy Price (Gwen); two sisters, Janie Price and Kymisha Price; sister-in-law Estheleta Price; brother-in-law Wayne Massey.
