American Flag Guardians to honor local veterans Nov. 11-14 at Bushels Crab House

November 4, 2020

The American Flag Guardians are proud to partner with Bushels Crab House to honor local veterans. The event is sponsored by Bushels on Route 1, Lewes, which has pledged to donate a percentage of its profits to the AFG, beginning Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, through Saturday, Nov. 14.  The proceeds will be used to support area veterans and to purchase flags for veterans who cannot afford an American flag or who need assistance with installation.

AFG members will be at Bushels on Veterans Day from 4 to 6 p.m., during which time three stitched, made-in-America flag kits (including installation if needed) will be raffled off free to veterans only.  AFG invites all veterans to come in, register to win and mingle with fellow vets and patriots.

On Nov. 14, members of the AFG will be in attendance from 4 to 6 p.m. to welcome vets and patriots.  At 5:30 the AFG will present:

• Young Patriot Award to a youth who demonstrates respect for the values and sacrifices of the community’s veterans

• Service to Veterans Award to an individual or business whose generosity and support impacts the lives of the veterans in the community

• Patriotic Neighbor Award to a citizen who gives selflessly to the community of veterans, first responders and service providers.

Honorees will receive a framed commendation and their names will be added to the perpetual plaque in the AFG HQ.
