American Legion Post 28 held a Memorial Day service May 27. Speakers, a wreath-laying, and a 21-gun salute honored service members who paid the ultimate price.
Ladies Auxiliary members René Brown, left, and Laura Wurrell pause for a silent moment after laying a wreath.
Post 28 Commander Jim Beattie speaks at the service. He finished his address by saying, “If it wasn't for the U.S. military, there would be no United States.”
Playing “Echo Taps” after the 21-gun salute is Ben Ables, scoutmaster of Troop 95 Georgetown. His son Zachary played “Echo Taps” inside the building.
