Angola by the Bay group to hold fall festival Oct. 13

Sea Gals event to include yard sale, benefit veterans
September 30, 2018

The public is invited to join the Sea Gals of Angola by the Bay for a yard sale and fall festival Saturday, Oct. 13. This is the first time the Sea Gals, the women’s club in ABTB, have combined their yard sale with an event to help bring in the fall season. The yard sale will begin at 8 a.m. and end at noon. The fall festival will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.

All net proceeds will support two local charities, the Home of the Brave II and the Warrior Weekend Program. Home of the Brave II offers transitional housing to female veterans and their children who are homeless. Assistance in finding employment, access to healthcare and transportation is offered along with counseling services. The Warrior Weekend Program offers weekend trips for wounded heroes and their families who are stationed at military medical centers, recovering from wounds sustained in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both are 501(c)(3) programs, and representatives from both groups will be present to provide information about their missions and needs.

The fall festival will include music by the Problematics and food by Papi Joe’s Café. Adkins Produce will offer a selection of fall fruits and vegetables along with mums, cornstalks and pumpkins for fall decorating. The Sea Gals will sell baked goods. There will be a variety of activities including a photo booth, 50/50 to be drawn at 2 p.m., face painting, pumpkin painting with pumpkins donated by Adkins Produce, and games for adults and children such as cornhole, football toss, pumpkin race, cupcake walk and pumpkin ring toss. Magician Jack Noel will be doing walk-around magic as he has done locally for many years.

The yard sale will be in the wooded area next to the parking lot in Angola by the Bay. Festival activities will be in the covered pavilion and adjacent areas as well as the community clubhouse. Admission is free; tickets will be sold for games. This is a rain or shine event. Angola by the Bay is at 33457 Woodland Circle, Lewes.
