Annette G. Myers, loved her family

September 22, 2020

Annette Gertrude Myers, 99, of Rolling Meadows outside Lewes passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at The Moorings at Lewes.

Born Aug. 28, 1921, near Hagerstown, Md., she married her childhood sweetheart, George A. Myers, in 1942.  For the next 61 years, the two enjoyed a full journey together through life filled with love, joy and family. Their route weaved from Hagerstown through Towson, Md., and Westminster, Md., to a final home in Lewes.  After George died in 2003, she lived the rest of her life happily gardening and cooking and enjoying friendships with her wonderful (and protective) neighbors in the Rolling Meadows community.  She watched with joy as her two beloved grandchildren moved through their adult lives, visiting and calling her often, and giving her two delightful great-granddaughters.

She is survived by her son, Gary A. Myers and his wife Jane W. of Rehoboth Beach; and her two cherished families: grandson David W. Myers and Jenn Wilson, his wife, with their young daughter Marin in Middletown and Lewes; and granddaughter Susan W. Fugate and her talented daughter Hadley of Tucson, Ariz.

Annette will be going "home" to be next to George in a private burial service in Clear Spring, Md.

The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the nurses, caregivers, and staff at The Moorings for their tender care of Annette through the last years of her life.

In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that you just give your children and grandchildren great big hugs in memory of Annette, and the 99 years of love  she brought to her family.
