Anti-semitism vigil was very uplifting

January 17, 2020

Against the dark backdrop of rising violence against Jews in this country and globally, and the blatantly ugly anti-Semitic screed locally by the vice chair of the Sussex County Republican Committee, the sun literally and figuratively shone through.

On a bright, sunny, 70-degree afternoon Jan. 12, the men and women of our community made their voices heard as they stood silently against racism and hatred of every kind.  Dozens of our citizens, racially and religiously diverse, converged on Lewes to peacefully assemble, pray, and stand shoulder to shoulder against hatred.

The simple beauty of those few moments of solidarity was a remarkable display that there remains within the vast majority of us respect for and goodwill toward all!
