Arlene R. Portland, retired teacher

 Arlene R. Portland, 75, of Georgetown passed away Friday, March 27, 2020, at Cadia Healthcare Renaissance in Millsboro.  She was born in New York, N.Y., May 1, 1944, to the late Vincent and Theresa Falzone and had no siblings.

Arlene was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and the Columbiettes Auxiliary.  She is a graduate of Buffalo State University of New York with a degree in elementary education and received a certificate for special education from Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J.  Arlene taught in Morris County, N.J., working with children with autism, along with teaching piano from her home.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Louis A. Portland; two children, Scott (Kelli) Portland of Milford, N.J., and Carol (Keith) Ketterman of Baltimore, Md.; and a granddaughter, Kaylee Ketterman.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
