Art league fine craft fair offers online viewing and purchasing

October 12, 2020

The Rehoboth Art League’s 36th Annual Holiday Fair Fine Craft Show returns with an exciting new addition of virtual booths for online purchases directly from participating artists.

Patrons can browse the artists’ work from the convenience of their own homes and opt for contactless pickup of purchases during the on-campus event Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7 and 8. The holiday fair offers area residents and coastal visitors creative shopping throughout the league’s Henlopen Acres campus.

Attendees can stroll the grounds and visit artisans’ booths in four different buildings – the historic Homestead, the Chambers building, the Paynter Studio and the Corkran Gallery. To ensure everyone’s safety, the art league will continue to require mask-wearing by all who enter the galleries. Volunteers will monitor attendees’ numbers in buildings and direct one-way traffic flow.

This year’s holiday fair raffle prize will be an original piece of artwork by exhibiting artist Linda Hill. Raffle tickets cost $5 each or five for $20 and may be purchased in the Corkran Gallery.

Food and drink will also be available on campus, courtesy of the Point Coffee House and Bake Shoppe offering packaged, takeaway breakfast and lunch options in the children’s studio. Dogfish Head will offer a selection of craft beer in the Paynter’s Pub.

Each year, attendees can take a chance at winning select pieces of artwork donated by juried artists. This year, the league will offer an exciting online auction of these items on which supporters can bid. Auction offerings can be viewed in advance online or in person at the Rehoboth Art League during the Nov. 7-8 event.

Holiday fair hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Entry is $5 per person, and children under 12 are admitted free.
