Art Strong DE, a creative destination for children and families, has opened its studio doors at 310 Walnut St., Milton, offering summer camp, classes and birthday parties.

Local educator Hannah Lokken launched her own art studio in Queens, N.Y., in 2021, and founded Art Strong DE last year when she moved back to Delaware to be closer to family.

The mission of Art Strong DE is to foster creativity and build confidence in children through various forms of art, including drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking.

“I am so excited to have our own permanent space to create and play! I’m looking forward to welcoming lots of children and families to the studio and filling it with color and creativity," said Lokken. "I’m grateful to be in a community like Milton that has such a strong appreciation for the arts.”

ArtStrong DE will offer a fun and engaging summer camp program for youngsters ages 5-10 from Monday, June 29 through Friday, Aug. 14. A session for campers ages 9-4 will run Monday to Friday, Aug. 17 to 21. Camp will feature small group sizes, encouraging staff, and a mix of indoor and outdoor art activities. Children will explore a wide variety of art techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and collage. 

In the fall, evening classes for children and teens will be offered, as well as birthday parties and adult craft nights.
