Asher Lee Rogers Jr., maintenance technician

April 10, 2019

Mr. Asher Lee Rogers Jr., 72, of Selbyville passed away peacefully with his family by his side Monday, April 8, 2019.

Asher was born in Milford to the late Asher Lee Rogers Sr. and Betty Louise Davis Rogers. He retired from White Horse Park in Berlin, Md., where he worked as a maintenance technician. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served our country during the Vietnam Era. Asher could do just about anything. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, gardening and cutting his grass. He was a family man and a good provider. Asher loved his grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them. Although he could be feisty at times, he was still loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Bonnie Kaye Toomey Rogers; three children, Belinda Rodarmel of Georgetown, Dale Toomey and his wife Penny of Laurel, and Asher Lee Rogers III of Selbyville; two sisters, Rita Tindall and Leslie Sturdevant; and two brothers, Gary Tindall and James Tindall. He also leaves behind four grandsons, one great-grandchild, extended family and friends. Also, we cannot forget to mention his beloved canine friend Chaser.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 15, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pastor Mark Phillips will officiate the service.
