Ashley Furio 5K Run/Walk for Children’s Beach House set Oct. 2

September 22, 2021

The 5th Annual Ashley Furio 5K to benefit the Children’s Beach House will start at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2.

The 5K Run/Walk and Crooked Crawl finishes with an awards ceremony and post-race festivities hosted by Presenting Sponsor Crooked Hammock Brewery in Lewes.

Event proceeds help fund the Ashley Nicole Furio Fund at CBH, established by Dave and Rose Furio to honor the memory of their beautiful daughter Ashley, and her compassion for and desire to help children with special needs.

The fund supports the Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center at Children’s Beach House, which provides preschool and support services to 3- and 4-year-olds from Sussex County. The center serves children of all abilities, those with identified developmental delays as well as those who are typically developing, as part of a diverse community of learners. Many of the children come from under-resourced households.

The Furio family is committed to carrying on Ashley’s legacy in a way that will benefit generations of children to come.

Hosted by Crooked Hammock, post-race activities include family fun activities, live music by The Stims, a buffet and beer garden for those age 21 and older, and an exciting raffle.
