Author Dorothy Greet to sign plant-based eating book Sept. 23

September 14, 2023

Browseabout Books will host Lewes author Dorothy Greet in a signing event for her new book, “Go Veg With Class,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, at 133 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Greet’s book details how her life was turned upside down by a heart attack at age 70, leading her to a whole new understanding of the impact of food choice on personal and global health. As a result, she earned certification in plant-based nutrition from The T. Colin Campbell Foundation and E-Cornell.

“Go Veg With Class” tells how Greet’s entire family was affected by heart disease. In it she also shares in photos and stories the joy of teaching plant-based eating classes at the University of Delaware Osher Institute of Lifelong Learning in Lewes,, with kids, and at local restaurants. She provides numerous recipes and information on how plant-based living can lead to personal and global health and wellbeing.

The book includes a foreword by Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr., MD, author of “Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease” and director of the heart disease reversal program at the Cleveland Clinic. Esselstyn said, “Instead of injuring herself progressively everyday with some elements of harmful nutrition, Dorothy has acquired new knowledge. She learned the hard way through having a heart attack, of the nutrition that is required to make herself heart attack proof.”

“Plant-based eating is not just a diet. It is a way of living that is better for people, better for animals and better for the planet,” said Greet. “I hope people will enjoy the book, gain some new knowledge and be inspired to change the way they eat and live.”

This event is free and registration is not required.
