The Lewes Public Library will host author Elizabeth Gilbert for a discussion of her latest memoir “All the Way to the River: Love, Loss, and Liberation,” at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, at Frederick D. Thomas Middle School, 910 Sussex Drive, Lewes.
In 2000, Gilbert met Rayya. They became friends, then best friends, then inseparable. When tragedy entered their lives, the truth was finally laid bare: The two were in love. They were also a pair of addicts on a collision course toward catastrophe. “All the Way to the River” will resonate with anyone who has ever been captive to love and who yearns, at long last, for liberation.
Gilbert is the author of nine previous works of fiction and nonfiction, including “Eat Pray Love” and “Big Love."
