In recognition of a $1,200 donation from B-Cycled Bottles, Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth held a ceremonial check presentation June 26 at its office outside Lewes.

B-Cycled Bottles is an Etsy-based business owned and operated by Brandon Eckenrode out of Hoffman Estates, a suburb of Chicago. He turns bottles into shots, rocks, and tumbler glasses.

Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth is a private nonprofit organization that was organized in 1970. Director Kathy Keuski said the $1,200 donation is enough money for 225 hot meals.

“We’re all about the meals,” said Keuski.

Eckenrode may be living a 13-hour ride from the Cape Region, but he has family who live nearby - his dad and brother live here. His brother Derek works at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

Derek was on hand at the ceremonial check signing. He said 100 glasses were sold.
