Barbara Jean Massey, enjoyed soap operas

Barbara Jean Massey of Selbyville, born Nov. 18, 1950, departed her life Thursday, June 6, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Barbara enjoyed watching soap operas, “The Young and The Restless” and “The Bold and The Beautiful.”  She loved listening to her blues, including her favorite song “Scratch My Back” by Slim Harpo. Her other hobbies included playing cards, pitching horseshoes and fishing.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, the late Louis and Margaret Massey; one brother, Willie Massey; and two sisters, Virginia Massey and Margaret Massey.

She leaves behind one daughter, Emily Massey of Selbyville; three granddaughters, Joleesa Massey of Millsboro, and Jaelyn Massey and Tiarra White of Selbyville; one great-granddaughter, Jamiyah Waples; two sisters Betty Smith (Harvey) of Berlin, Md., and Grace Massey of Selbyville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish her memory. She also leaves behind her companion of 20-plus years, Rick of Snow Hill, Md.; and her canine friend, Buster.
