Barbara Anne Ailworth Royer passed away Friday, May 15, 2026. She was a strong-willed woman who never wanted to be a burden to anyone. She was a wonderful mother, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, Mom Mom Squash, as Jeremy and Jojo lovingly called her, and a dear friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lloyd Ailworth and Donna L. Merryman.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her beloved “baby boy,” Bear Royer (Kitty); her daughters, Annie M. Snyder and Elizabeth J. White; and her sons-in-law, Joseph Snyder Sr. and Richie White. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Matthew Tharp, Alexis A. Layfield, Joseph E. Snyder Jr., Jasmine J. Layfield, Troy H. Morris, Colton P. White and Colby R. White; her great-grandchildren, Winnie P. Brown and Oaklynn-Sue Anne Hernandez; her siblings, Don Hofnecker, Bill Maddox and Helma Hofnecker; her niece, Sarah M. Merryman; her brother-in-law, Preston E. Merryman; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

Two men helped make this family possible: James E. Lecates and Hilbert T. Morris.

Barbara will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She chose to have no formal services, wanting everyone to remember her with happiness and love. She was a truly selfless person.

She is now at peace and reunited with her loved ones, including her grandson, Jeremy D. Snyder, whom she missed very much.

Her love will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
