Beacon cross country doubles down Providence Creek

Beacon girls win close race 25-30

The Beacon girls’ cross country team withstood a challenge from Providence Creek Oct. 1 at the University of Delaware’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment, winning 25-30.

The Beacon boys dominated the visitors, running to a 15-40 victory. 

Lindsey Fernandez of Beacon won the girls’ race in 13:41. She was followed by Layla Garrett of Providence in 14:32, Anna Bender of Beacon in 15:02, Kayla Freeman of Providence in 15:08, Miranda Obeng of Providence in 15:10, Elli Lordon of Beacon in 15:13, Kayden Wills of Beacon in 15:41, Cami Nouhra of Beacon in 15:43, Janie Burkely of Beacon in 15:46 and Hazel Getzliff of Beacon in 15:54.

The top 10 boys in the race were all from Beacon. In order were Trent Kaufman in 11:22, Eddie Houck in 11:46, Mason Morrone in 12:02, Kaden Cherico in 12:43, Riley Stazzone in 12:49, Max Gillen in 13:05, Stephen Hart in 13:06, Jacob Goodsell in 13:07, Brady Cunnane in 13:22 and Traver Johnson in 13:25.
