Beebe’s Miracle Mile to go virtual June 5

May 31, 2022

Beebe Healthcare’s 19th Annual Miracle Mile will be a virtual event for participants this year Sunday, June 5, which is National Survivorship Day.

Beebe is asking participants to walk a mile at the location of their choice with family and friends and to tag photos with #BeebeMiracleMile2022. The event celebrates the special connection between cancer survivors and their caregivers, and it also provides an opportunity for the community to support the Beebe oncology department and its patients through fundraising and donations.

This year’s contributions will go to supporting the Cancer Patient Special Needs Fund. These monies directly assist patients with daily expenses, comprehensive care needs and diagnosis-specific essentials.

“The Miracle Mile is a special event to both the community and Beebe Healthcare. It gives us the opportunity to come together and acknowledge the journey of not only the patients we have served, but also all the people that support them along the way,” said Maurice Winkfield, executive director of oncology services. “We strive to provide the best care and support for cancer survivors here in Sussex County. Through gifts made to the Cancer Patient Special Needs Fund, which assists oncology patients who have limited financial resources, we are able to help alleviate some of their burdens. One hundred percent of the donations to the Cancer Patient Special Needs Fund goes directly to qualifying patients, helping them focus 100% on healing without distraction.”
