Autumnal wreaths, apple cider and autumn squashes will be among the fall offerings at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 25, at George H.P. Smith Park, Johnson and DuPont avenues in Lewes. In case of inclement weather, the market moves to Shields Elementary School parking lot at Sussex Drive and Savannah Road. Customers are reminded that the market will move to Shields Elementary School parking lot starting Oct. 2 for the fall hours of 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., each Saturday through Nov. 20.

There will also be broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, Asian and Bartlett pears, many apple varieties, radishes, green beans, chard, baby bok choi, microgreens, romaine lettuce, arugula, potatoes, garlic, onions, jams, eggs, yogurt, milk, butter, ice cream, mushrooms, chicken, pork, beef, crabs, oysters, honey and much more.

Beebe Healthcare representatives will be on site with health screenings and two demonstrations. Free healthcare screenings with Beebe nurses will be offered from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Beebe tent.

At the demo tents from 9 to 9:30 a.m., Arlene Feleccia, registered dietitian, diabetes care and education specialist, will present on diabetes management and medical nutrition. Cape Gazette food writer Denise Clemons will provide tips for healthy cooking from 10 to 11 a.m.

The HLFM’s Wednesday market at Crooked Hammock Brewery is open from 8 to 11 a.m. with 11 farmers/producers: 302 Aquaponics, Baywater Farms, Bennett Orchards, Bodine Farms, Dittmar Family Farms, Hattie’s Garden, Jackie Blues, Kalmar Farm, Mandala Pies, Stag Run Farm and Totem Farms.

The market continues its SNAP (EBT Food Stamps) program. To help lower economic barriers to local, healthy food, the HLFM matches up to $20 each participant each week with HLFM Bonus Bucks. SNAP participants can come to the SNAP tent to pick up the bonus $20 in tokens to use at the market. WIC and SFMNP coupons will also be accepted at the market.

The HLFM continues its partnership with Epworth United Methodist Church Food Pantry. HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community may purchase local produce, meats, milk, and other food from vendors to donate to the Epworth program every Saturday. The produce and other foods are gathered after each market session and given to Epworth. The HLFM thanks its customers for their generosity.
