Bethany Blues announces free jazz entertainment Oct. 11-15

September 30, 2017

For those who love the sultry sounds of jazz, the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival in Rehoboth and its surrounding area is the highlight of the fall season. Tickets can go quickly and cost a pretty penny, and many of the restaurants are packed to the gills hosting various artists. This year, Bethany Blues is offering a full jazz lineup for free, from Wednesday to Sunday, Oct. 11 to 15.

"We are not charging anything for our shows, and we've booked some really great acts for the weekend," said Jessica Nathan, director of operations for the Lewes location. "We want to invite everyone in for a good time, great barbecue, bourbon, and of course, stellar entertainment in the spirit of jazz weekend."

Youth Appreciation Night hosted by True Blue Jazz will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11. This is a truly special event featuring the local future of jazz. True Blue Jazz is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to preserving the jazz standard and bringing that sound to stage locally. This special performance will feature local students and jazz ensembles on the Bethany Blues stage.

Elwood Bishop & No Byscuyts will play at 8:30p.m., Friday, Oct. 13, and Swing Junction will play at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14.

The Reminders will be live on stage as the weekend winds down with the jazz brunch beginning at 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 15. Guests can enjoy the bounty of the biggest brunch in lower Delaware to the smooth sounds of jazz, grab a bloody or mimosa and kick back with family and friends - it's the best of all worlds under one roof.

Bethany Blues invites everyone to experience a swath of jazz artists without any cover charge in one of the beach's best atmospheres. After all, what goes together better than the sweet sounds of jazz and classic bourbon cocktails inspired by the 1920s? For more information, go to bethanyblues.com or call 302-644-2500.
