Bethany Blues to present Prohibition-themed party in January

September 22, 2018

Tickets have just gone on sale for Bethany Blues of Bethany Beach’s Prohibition Party from 6 to 10 p.m., Monday,  Jan. 14. For one night only, the restaurant will transform itself into a fabulous speakeasy, where only those with the correct password can get into the underground party where Prohibition-era Delaware will be on full display.

Tiffany Cordeaux, event coordinator for the Bethany Beach location, is excited to unveil a spectacularly themed event that fits right in with the restaurant’s reputation for bourbon, blues and barbecue. “We are really going over the top on this one with flappers, performance artists, lounges, and of course, food and beverages that fit the time frame of ‘The Noble Experiment,’ as Prohibition was called.”

Party-goers are encouraged to show up in costume so they can blend into the scene of this interactive experience. The speakeasy vibe will permeate the entire place, which will include themed rooms by Sagamore Spirits, a lounge, and music of the era.

Local actors will be peppered into the mix to provide historical accuracy and entertainment. From Three Gun Wilson, who notoriously broke up Delaware speakeasies, to the barrel-slinging bootleggers, there will be characters abounding in the alternate time-space continuum Blues is throwing down. There will be two food stations and several passed appetizers, as well as quality cocktails from Bethany Blues.

Tickets are $139 for the event and will sell quickly. Purchase tickets and get the speakeasy password to go underground and into the world of Prohibition-era Delaware. To purchase tickets go to www.bethanyblues.com.
