Bethany Blues virtual bourbon dinner bookings due March 1

February 23, 2021

Bethany Blues is teaming up with Rabbit Hole Distillery for a virtual bourbon dinner to be held form 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, March 5.

From the comfort of home, attendees will enjoy the complete experience of Blues’ popular, signature bourbon dinners.

Both locations are offering the experience in a new way so customers can enjoy a virtual yet social experience from their own homes.

This is the safest way to enjoy one too many bourbons without a single ounce of guilt.

Nicole Giannella, Bethany Blues catering manager, said they have put together an exclusive video experience in two parts, to tie in the social and educational elements that are the foundation of these dinners. “We have a special video that people can view when they pick up their meals, which includes commentary from the distillery staff as well as Blues’ staff. And there is a special surprise included from the distillery as well,” she said.

The live online experience includes a question-and-answer session with Sean Kane, Rabbit Hole representative, and Blues’ staff. Participants can watch along while they enjoy the five-course meal and hand-selected bourbon. Blues is featuring a luxurious menu that moves from an amuse bouche to a dessert with four tasty bourbon selections.

When pairing bourbon with meals, the art is create a menu where the meal stands up to the strength of whiskey. The courses March 5 will start with a smoked mutton burgoo ball, then kale salad, next a fish course of ceviche, and the meaty main course is osso buco. It ends on a chocolatey note with a flourless cake punctuated with seasonal blood orange-raspberry compote.

The drink menu starts with a welcome cocktail and moves on to straight bourbons paired with the rest of the courses. They will feature Kentucky straight bourbons, aged in different types of wood casks, some rye, some four-grain. These dinners are great for both beginners and intermediate whiskey enthusiasts. Those with a budding interest can be introduced to several types of bourbon in one sitting, and those with good knowledge can appreciate the nuances in the various bourbon selections.

Call by Monday, March 1, to book pickup from either the Bethany Beach location at 302-537-1500 or Lewes at 302-644-2500. Reservations must be made with credit cards. The dinner is $89 per person. For more information, go to bethanyblues.com.
