A bicyclist was injured Nov. 18 when he was struck by a minivan along Rehoboth Avenue.

The bicyclist, 74, was riding eastbound on Rehoboth Avenue at 3:50 p.m. when he was hit at the intersection of State Road by a minivan which was turning onto State Road from westbound Rehoboth Avenue, said Lt. Jaime Riddle of the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.

The minivan struck the bicyclist, causing minor nonlife-threatening injuries, Riddle said, and the bicyclist was taken to Beebe Healthcare for treatment.

The motorist was uninjured, and was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
