Human remains were located in a wooded area near Dover, a short distance away from where music-lovers make a long trek to the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway for Firefly Music Festival.
An investigation began about 7 p.m. June 15 when a person walking through a wooded area east of Leipsic Road near Marley Lane found skeletal human remains, said Sgt. Richard Bratz of Delaware State Police.
The Delaware Division of Forensic Science is assisting with the investigation, and the identity of the deceased is currently unknown, Bratz said.
An investigation is in its early stages as troopers collect and analyze evidence, he said.
