Breast Fest 5K set for Aug. 15 in Dewey Beach

August 11, 2020

The seventh annual Breast Fest 5K run/walk will take place as a live in-person event Saturday, Aug. 15, at Northbeach restaurant in Dewey Beach. This event is part of the Ten Sisters of Dewey Beach summer running and walking events.

Precautions are taken to ensure that Gov. John Carney’s Phase 2 guidance and CDC guidelines are in place.

The event is limited to less than 250, and the Northbeach parking lot provides ample space for social distancing for registration and packet pickup. Wave starts two minutes apart will be used to ensure social distancing at the starting line. Masks are required for volunteers and participants when they pick up their race number and T-shirt.

Awards are all based on chip time and include overall male and female and masters and top three in five-year age groups. Packet pickup and race-day registration take place in the Northbeach parking lot from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., Aug. 15. Race registration information can be found on www.races2run.com

The proceeds benefit the Tyanna Foundation. Runners are asked to wear pink in honor of breast cancer survivors. Amenities include a T-shirt and box lunch.
