Brenda J. Quillen, Perdue retiree

Brenda J. Quillen, 69, of Seaford passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford.

Brenda was born Dec. 12, 1949, daughter of the late Aubrey Dennis and the late Carrie (Truitt) Dennis.  She worked as a poultry grader for Perdue with over 20 years of service before her disability in 2000.  Brenda enjoyed watching NASCAR and professional wrestling.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, William Dennis and Thomas Dennis; three sisters, Barbara McBroom, Donna Rae Parker and Charlotte “Teenie” Truitt; and several other loving members of her family.  She is survived by her grandson, Christopher Colmery; her good friend and caregiver, Linda Hudson; a sister, Sharon Brittingham; and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends who brought Brenda comfort in her final days.  

The family also appreciates the loving care given to Brenda by the nursing staff at Nanticoke Hospital and Delaware Hospice.

A private visitation will be held at Melson Funeral Home in Frankford Wednesday, Oct. 16, where a graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Dennis & Truitt Family Cemetery in Powellville, Md.
