British take over Cape May-Lewes Ferry

August 10, 2020

Lewes, Delaware, looked a bit more like Lewes, England, July 30, as Grain On The Rocks offered a night of British music and cars.

The Brit Pack took the stage for a socially distant concert at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, playing popular songs from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elton John and others for the sold-out crowd. Unique vehicles from the British Car Club of Delaware lined the outer edge of the green space.

The outdoor green space at the ferry is set up with 12-by-12-foot socially distant blocks set 10 feet apart. Guests can have up to eight family members in each pod, and they can order food and drinks off a special menu online from their phones. Guests may bring their own chairs.

Rocking the Docks will conclude with Hot Dogs & Gin of Endicott, N.Y., Thursday, Aug. 20. To reserve a space, purchase tickets or learn more about the concerts, go to www.rockingthedocks.com. Tickets are $40 per square and benefit Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park.
