Broadwalk to benefit breast cancer coalition April 25

April 14, 2021

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and CAMP Rehoboth invite community members to attend the 2021 Broadwalk on (or off) the Boardwalk Sunday, April 25, in Rehoboth Beach.

Broadwalk on the Boardwalk is a free annual event organized and originally created by Kathy Wiz in honor of her sister’s battle with breast cancer.

Broadwalk has historically wrapped up the CAMP Rehoboth Women’s Fest weekend. Usually, Broadwalk draws hundreds of people to the Rehoboth Boardwalk to walk as a group. However, per COVID-19 safety precautions, organizers are encouraging all Broadwalkers to grab their family or favorite walking buddy, put on their best Broadwalk attire and get ready to walk or run at any location they choose.

Participants can walk or run anytime April 25 at home, indoors or outdoors, at a nearby park or other favorite place. Photos may be posted in the discussion of the DBCC Broadwalk o the Boardwalk Facebook event for everyone to see!

Participants are welcome to gather at the CAMP Rehoboth Courtyard for photos from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., April, 25 at 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Pink boas will be sold for a suggested minimum donation of $10.

During these trying times, everyone’s support is needed more than ever.  There is no minimum donation amount required to participate.

All proceeds from the 2021 Broadwalk on the Boardwalk benefit DBCC’s programs that increase breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, provide access to mammograms, and provide support and resources to men and women in the local community who are newly diagnosed or facing recurrence of breast cancer.
