Brown Parris Thawley Jr., Cape Region Realtor

Brown Parris Thawley Jr., 78, of Lewes passed away suddenly Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. Brown was born in Milford, the son of the late Brown P. Thawley Sr. and Virginia (Blades) Thawley.

He attended Milford schools and was a graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy in 1960 and received his associates degree in business from Goldey-Beacom College. Brown served in the Delaware National Guard. He owned Brown Motor Company in Milford. He worked as a loan officer in mortgage banking and many years as a Realtor with Vernon Real Estate, and most recently with Betty Mann-Beebe of Mann and Sons in Rehoboth.  He was still working part time at  Patrician Towers in Rehoboth.  He enjoyed attending antique car shows, traveling and spending time at the beach with his many friends. Anyone who ever met Brown loved him and remembered him fondly.

He is survived by two sisters, Beverly Thawley of Seaford and Mary Sue Smith of Milford; and nieces, Michele Bell and her son Zachary Bell of Seaford and Renee Morris and her husband Gary of Seaford. He is also survived by a multitude of cousins and friends nationwide and his work family at Mann and Sons.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, in Milford Community Cemetery, North Walnut St., Milford. A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday April 16,  from 10 a.m. until noon, at Shrimpy’s, Midway Shopping Center, Lewes. All attendees must adhere to the current COVID-19 restrictions of mask wearing and social distancing.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Brown's memory to the Milford Museum, 121 S. Walnut St., Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
