The sixth annual Bump, Set, Light Volleyball Tournament is set for Sunday, July 26, beginning at 10 a.m., bayside, at 1301 Coastal Hwy, Dewey Beach.

The all-day beach volleyball event uses the power of community and love of volleyball to raise awareness for youth mental health.

Hosted by SL24: UnLocke the Light Foundation, the event provides mental health education, resources and outreach to the Sussex County community while raising critical funds to support local young people.

Each year, Bump, Set, Light brings together more than 150 players, 100 volunteers, 125 sponsors and thousands of spectators, demonstrating the strength and impact of the "local light" that makes Dewey Beach so special. In 2025, the tournament raised more than $200,000 in a single day to support SL24, Sean's House, and Sean’s Rooms programming.

This year, all proceeds from the event will directly benefit the opening of Sean's House Sussex, SL24's second full-time mental health safe haven for young people ages 14 to 24.

Opening this fall at 1307 Savannah Road in Lewes, Sean's House Sussex will provide free peer support, mental health resources and a safe space for young people navigating life's challenges. Like Sean's House in Newark, visitors will be welcomed by trained Peer24 support specialists who understand the importance of being heard, supported and connected.

The Bump, Set, Light Volleyball Tournament was established in memory of Sean Locke, a 2012 Saint Mark’s High School graduate, 2016 University of Delaware graduate and former Division I basketball player who died by suicide while battling depression in July 2018.
