Buschi thanks Beebe for its diligence

October 10, 2019

I had been sick for almost a week and getting progressively worse before I went to Beebe’s walk-in center in Rehoboth on Sept. 22.

They immediately sent me to Beebe’s ER and the ER hospitalized me. I was in the hospital through Sept. 26. It was the longest hospitalization I’ve ever had.

I got excellent treatment at Beebe. Dr. Zangari was my doctor. She was able to diagnose me on day one and get me started on a proper course of treatment. Had they waited for cultures to come back, I would have had a very different, longer and very painful hospital stay.

When the cultures did come back days later, they confirmed her diagnosis. Dr. Zangari was a godsend. She was also delightful to talk to.

The nursing staff did their job under what I would consider combat conditions.

For the first two days there was a patient in the next room who I believe was suffering from dementia. She screamed endlessly all day long. She constantly tried to wander.

I could close my room door and I had earplugs; they had no reprieve. With all that, they never failed to care for me.

I am recovering well and am eternally grateful for all those at Beebe who took care of me and helped me heal.
